Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

We collect only what we need to run the job board:

• Account info: your name, email address, and password (stored securely).
• Job seeker data: your profile, saved jobs, and applications you submit through the site. If you add contact details for employers — such as a video phone (VP) number — we store them with your profile and share them only with employers you apply to.
• Employer data: company name, contact info, and job listing details you post.
• Payment info: processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
• Usage data: analytics from Microsoft Clarity (pages visited, clicks, scrolling, browser and device type) that shows us how people use the site so we can improve it.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To operate the job board (show listings, process applications).
• To communicate with you about your account or listings.
• To process employer payments through Stripe.
• To improve the site based on how people use it.

We do not sell your personal data. Ever.

3. Where Your Data Lives

DeafCanWork uses Supabase as its database provider. Your account data is stored on Supabase's secure servers. Supabase processes data on our behalf and is bound by its own privacy and security commitments.

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never touch your card details.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies: cookies that keep you logged in and remember your preferences, and analytics cookies from Microsoft Clarity that help us understand how the site is used. We don't use third-party advertising trackers, and we never sell cookie data.

5. Who Sees Your Data

• Employers see what you include in job applications you send them.
• Job seekers see the public parts of employer listings.
• We may share data if required by law (court order, subpoena).

We don't share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else trying to profit from it.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• See what data we have about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Opt out of any marketing emails (we rarely send them anyway).

To exercise any of these rights, email DeafWork2026@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.

7. Data Retention

We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to keep records (e.g., payment receipts).

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices — encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password storage, database access controls that limit who can see which records, and security headers on every page. If a data breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify affected users by email. No system is perfect, but we take protecting your data seriously.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll post a notice on the site. Continuing to use DeafCanWork means you accept the updated policy.
