Deaf Pulse — The social platform built for Deaf culture
These terms are a starting draft and are not legal advice. They should be reviewed by an attorney before you rely on them.
1. What Deaf Pulse Is
Deaf Pulse is a sign-first social platform for the Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and DeafBlind community. Share sign language videos, hang out live, connect through DMs — this is our space, built for us.
Motto: Sign, Share, and Belong. Tagline: Every Hand, One Pulse! 🤟
2. Who Can Join
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. (This is a legal requirement under COPPA — the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.)
If you're under 18, make sure a parent or guardian is okay with you being here.
One account per person. Don't create fake accounts or pretend to be someone else.
3. Your Content, Your Rights
You own what you post. Your videos, photos, and messages belong to you.
By posting, you give Deaf Pulse a license to display your content on the platform (so other people can see it). That's it.
We won't sell your content, use it in ads without asking, or claim it as ours.
You can delete your content at any time. When you do, we remove it from public view.
Don't upload content you don't have the right to share.
No sexually explicit content, graphic violence, or illegal activity.
Captions are optional but encouraged — they make your videos accessible to more people.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Harass, bully, threaten, or stalk other users
Post hate speech targeting any person or group
Share someone else's private information without consent
Spam, scam, or run misleading schemes
Upload malware or attempt to hack the platform
Use the platform for anything illegal
6. Moderation
We want Deaf Pulse to be a safe, welcoming space. That means:
We can remove content that violates these terms or our Community Guidelines.
We can warn, suspend, or ban accounts for serious or repeated violations.
We'll always try to be fair — but our decision on moderation is final.
If you see something wrong, report it. We rely on the community.
7. Account Termination
We can terminate your account for violating these terms. You can also delete your own account at any time. When an account is deleted, we remove your public content and profile within 30 days.
8. Disclaimer
Deaf Pulse is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it running smoothly, but we can't guarantee it'll always be up, bug-free, or perfect. We're not responsible for content other users post, or for anything that happens between users off the platform.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from using Deaf Pulse. Since the platform is free, our total liability is limited to $0.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If we make big changes, we'll let you know on the platform. Keep using Deaf Pulse after that, and you're accepting the new terms.
