Deaf Pulse is our space. Built by a Deaf founder, for Deaf culture. These guidelines aren't about policing you — they're about making sure everyone feels welcome here.
💛Be Kind
This is the big one. Treat people the way you'd want to be treated. We're a community — Deaf, hard-of-hearing, DeafBlind, CODAs, allies — and everyone here deserves respect.
Encourage people. Celebrate each other's wins.
Disagree without being cruel. You can have a different opinion and still be kind about it.
Remember there's a real person behind every video.
🚫No Harassment, No Hate
Zero tolerance. This includes:
Harassment or bullying — targeting someone repeatedly, mocking their signing, their appearance, their identity.
Hate speech — attacking someone because of their race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion, or any other part of who they are.
Threats or intimidation — of any kind, toward anyone.
Doxxing — sharing someone's private info (address, phone number, real name) without their permission.
🤟Respect Deaf Culture
Deaf Pulse is rooted in Deaf culture. That means:
Sign-first. This is a visual space. Sign language videos are the heart of the platform.
Don't mock anyone's signing. Everyone's at a different level — beginners, fluent signers, and everyone in between are welcome.
Audism isn't welcome. Don't talk down to Deaf people or treat hearing as superior.
🎥Video Content Rules
Keep it appropriate. No sexually explicit content, no graphic violence, nothing illegal.
Only share what you have the right to share. Don't repost someone else's videos without permission.
Captions encouraged, not required. Adding captions (or using our caption tool) makes your videos accessible to more people — including DeafBlind users who use screen readers. It's a nice thing to do.
No dangerous stunts or content that could get someone hurt.
📢No Spam
Don't flood the feed with repetitive posts.
No scam links, fake giveaways, or pyramid schemes.
No unsolicited advertising in DMs.
If you're a business, be upfront about it — don't pretend to be a regular user.
🔒Respect Privacy
Don't share screenshots or recordings of someone's DMs without their permission.
Don't post videos of other people without their consent.
What's shared in a private hangout stays in the private hangout.
🚨See Something? Say Something.
If someone's breaking these guidelines:
Report it. Use the report button on the post or profile.
Don't engage. Arguing with trolls just gives them what they want.
Block if you need to. Your peace matters.
We review every report. We might not always agree with you, but we'll always look.
⚖️What Happens If You Break the Rules
We believe in second chances, but we also believe in protecting the community:
First time (minor): A warning and the content gets removed.
Repeated or serious: Temporary suspension.
Severe (threats, hate speech, illegal content): Permanent ban, no warning.
